Join us for Paraklesis & Faith Enrichment! Worship and Education that Welcomes all to the Orthodox Church
What is Orthodox Christianity? Why do we worship the way that we do? What is the Divine Liturgy, and how do we celebrate it each and every Sunday? What are icons? What are the sacraments? Who are the saints? What is our calling as Orthodox Christians...
If you have ever had any of these questions percolate in your heart and mind, Faith Enrichment is the class for you! Join us every Wednesday evening at Holy Trinity greek Orthodox Church, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, beginning with Paraklesis (Supplication Service) to the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, and an Orthodoxy 101 class tailored to walk with faithful parishioners and inquirers of the faith through thought-provoking and life transforming education in the faith.
Each evening, Father Andrew, along with special guest speakers, will offer lessons and discussions on various topics pertaining to Orthodoxy Christianity and its theology, traditions, and ethos. Orthodoxy is a beautiful faith centered on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the message of the Gospel. The goal of this class is to open our hearts and minds to the beauty and depth of the Orthodox Christian faith and learn about the many elements of our faith that give us life and lead us towards perfect unity with God.
Who is Faith Enrichment for?
- Faith Enrichment is for everyone- parishioners, Orthodoxy Christians, individuals who seek to learn more about the faith, inquirers, visitors, friends of faithful members and guests. The only requirement to attending Faith Enrichment is that your heart is open to transformation, the teachings of the Orthodox Church, and how to live the message of Christ's Gospel daily.
When is Faith Enrichment?
- Faith Enrichment is, generally, every Wednesday of the week beginning at 6:00 PM with a Supplication Service to the Theotokos, and ending with fellowship and a lesson in our church hall.
Where is Faith Enrichment?
- Faith Enrichment is held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Fitchburg, MA. We begin in our sancuary for prayer, and then proceed to our hall directly below the sanctuary proper for fellowship, light refreshments, and our lesson of the evening
What is the Paraklesis (Supplication) Service to the Theotokos?
- The Paraklesis service, or Supplication service to the Theotokos, is a short service dedicated to the Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary. In that small service, we chant a poem with hymns to the Virgin Mary, asking for her intercessions that we may receive healing of soul and body, divine joy, restoration, protection, and strength. The service ends with a list of petitions to our Lord, where the priest will commemorate by name those who are living, who have specific needs for prayers (i.e. those who are sick, who are in need of help and protection). The service itself is filled with beautiful poetic hymnology and words that uplift the faithful and comfort those who are in sorrow.
We look forward to welcoming you to our weekly Paraklesis and Faith Enrichment class!
