A Message from our Philoptochos President
It is with great joy that I share a few words about our Philoptochos chapter, Panagia, a name lovingly chosen by Euaggelia Haidousi to honor the compassion and protection of the Theotokos. Philoptochos is a ministry rooted in Christian love, committed to offering philanthropic service and uplifting those in need. Its mission—to promote charitable, benevolent, and philanthropic outreach—remains at the heart of everything we do. I am blessed to serve as President of the Panagia Philoptochos chapter, supported by a dedicated board: Vice President Liz Stathis, Treasurer Dimitra Tsourapis, Secretary Georgia Robideau, Membership Chairperson Julie Idaris, Advisor Euaggelia Haidousi, and Board Member Ann Pickering.
I, Kalliopi Vasalofsky, am truly honored to lead this remarkable group of women who give of themselves with compassion, grace, and unwavering commitment. With unity and faith guiding our efforts, our chapter is preparing for several meaningful initiatives, including our upcoming Thanksgiving Raffle and Christmas Fair—events that support our philanthropic work and strengthen the fellowship within our parish.
We are also pleased to share that we have applied to the National Philoptochos for the $1,000 Feed the Hungry grant, which would help us expand our outreach to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Additionally, we have submitted our application for the Sock Ministry, through which we plan to donate socks, hats, and mittens to veterans in need. We are especially grateful for Father Andrew, whose guidance, support, and sincere desire to do the very best for our community inspire and strengthen our mission. With God’s grace and the support of our parish family, we remain committed to serving our brothers and sisters with dignity, compassion, and love.
Our new Panagia Ladies Philoptochos Society is currently seeking new members for the 2025-2026 year. We welcome all ladies of our parish to please support our mission by becoming a member of our chapter. Membership to the Philoptochos is not a tremendous undertaking, rather, it is a special way to offer our gifts to God and His Church towards those in need. We welcome you!
In Christ,
Kalliope Vasalofsky, Panagia Philoptochos President
